Randy Gregory expected to sign with Broncos 22: Randy Gregory expected to sign with Broncos after almost agreeing to deal with Cowboys

Randy Gregory expected to sign with Broncos: The frenzy of free agency officially arrived on Tuesday. Moments after the Cowboys were announced he had agreed a new five-year deal with Randy Gregory.

Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reported that the defensive end changed his mind, rejecting Dallas agreeing to a five-year, $70 million deal with the Denver Broncos.

NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport said the hang-up in contract language was a turning point for Gregory to return to the Cowboys. Per Rapoport, the Cowboys deal was also due for $70 million.

Gregory’s innings is reminiscent of linebacker Anthony Barr, who headed for the Jets in 2019 until he agreed with CJ Mosley. (Randy Gregory expected to sign with Broncos)

Barr later explained that he didn’t feel right about moving to New York as soon as he agreed, and he ended up returning to the Vikings.

Gregory’s move means Edge Rusher is leaving the team that has been patient and supportive of him as he repeatedly violated league policy and abuse programs in the early part of his career.

Gregory has lost more than 50 games due to suspension and has yet to play a full season, but he has shown signs of edge over the past two seasons, recording 9.5 sacks in that period.

Gregory ranked 10th among all edge-rushers in the pass-rush grade, according to Pro Football Focus, and in the 12 regular-season games he played in 2021, for the most turnover per Next Gen Stats under pressure. Tied.

He’ll bring those talents to the Mile High City, where the Broncos are aggressively turning their roster into a contender in the now-loaded AFC West. (Randy Gregory expected to sign with Broncos)

Denver last week agreed a blockbuster trade to acquire quarterback Russell Wilson and acted accordingly on the eve of the new league year.

Filling a vital need in Edge Rusher months after franchise legend Von Miller was traded to Los Angeles, where the future Hall of Famer won a Super Bowl with the Rams.

NFL Network’s James Palmer reported that the Broncos turned their attention to Gregory when it became clear that Miller would be too expensive to sign.

With a healthy Bradley Chub in the mix, Denver will have two excellent edge rushers to hunt down quarterbacks. (Randy Gregory expected to sign with Broncos)

NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport reports that Dallas, meanwhile, will soften the surprise blow of losing Gregory while retaining security to Malik Hooker on an $8 million two-year deal.

After a promising start to his NFL career, Hooker came to Dallas in 2021 after being interrupted by injuries with the Colts.

Hooker appeared in 15 games, recording 44 tackles, defending two passes and making an interception in his first season with Dallas, which was facing a question as they entered the new league year. (Randy Gregory expected to sign with Broncos)

Keeping Hooker will prevent the Cowboys from losing their top two strong Safaris, as Jayron Kearse heads to free agency and has yet to sign a new deal with Dallas.
